Requires court clerks to forward identifying information to the Michigan Department of State Police when an individual becomes subject to federal firearm prohibitions under 18 USC 922(d)(4) or (g)(4) due to mental health commitments or adjudications, for inclusion in the national instant criminal background check system

Allows individuals subject to federal firearm disabilities due to mental health adjudications or commitments in Michigan to petition the court for removal of those disabilities

Courts must hold closed proceedings to consider evidence including the circumstances of the disability, the petitioner's mental health and criminal history, character evidence, and changes in condition since the original adjudication

Relief must be granted if the court finds by preponderance of evidence that the petitioner will not likely act in a manner dangerous to public safety and that granting relief is not contrary to public interest

Individuals may petition for relief no more than once every 2 years, and the Department of State Police must remove applicable records from databases within 10 business days of a court order granting relief
