Allows retirement allowance payments for a designated beneficiary under the judges retirement system to be paid directly to a special needs trust established under federal Medicaid law (42 USC 1396p(d)(4)(A) or (C))

Permits the retirant, the retirement allowance beneficiary, or the beneficiary's legal representative to direct the retirement system in writing to make payments to the qualifying trust

Applies to beneficiaries designated under Option A (full survivor benefit) or Option B (half survivor benefit) retirement payment plans

Makes technical and grammatical updates throughout the statute, including modernizing language and properly italicizing case citations

Renumbers existing subsections to accommodate the new trust payment provision
