Requires the Michigan Department of Education to develop or adopt cultural competency training resources for schools by June 1, 2027, covering topics including diversity, cultural identity, implicit bias, and historic contributions of various ethnic and cultural groups

Mandates all educators in public school districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies to receive cultural competency training starting in the 2027-2028 school year

Requires all non-educator school personnel who have contact with students to also complete cultural competency training, though they are exempt from the portion covering historic contributions of specific cultural groups

Allows schools to use their own existing cultural competency resources if comparable to the state-developed materials

Authorizes the department to provide optional instructional materials on the history of Asian American and Pacific Islander, Black, Indigenous, Latine, Hispanic, Jewish American, European American, Middle Eastern, North African, and Chaldean American communities aligned with state social studies standards
