Creates the Cultural History Advisory Board within the Michigan Department of Education, appointed by the Superintendent of Public Instruction

Board consists of 25 members including representatives from Asian-American/Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic, Black, Middle Eastern/North African/Chaldean, Indigenous, Caribbean-American, Jewish-American, and European-American communities, plus K-12 educators, higher education representatives, labor organization members, and department staff

Members serve 2-year terms, must demonstrate cultural competency, and cannot exhibit bias or discrimination against individuals protected under the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act

Board must provide recommendations within 2 years of full appointment on a K-12 curriculum toolkit and professional development for teaching cultural history related to the represented ethnic and cultural groups

Advisory board must hold public meetings, collaborate with local institutions, tribes, cultural historians, museums, and universities, and form subcommittees for each cultural group's curriculum development
