Establishes mandatory minimum sentences for fleeing and eluding police officers across all four degrees of the offense

Fourth-degree fleeing and eluding: minimum 30 days imprisonment (up to 2 years), with fines up to $2,000

Third-degree fleeing and eluding: minimum 1 year imprisonment (up to 5 years), with fines up to $5,000; applies when violation causes collision, occurs in low-speed zones, or offender has prior fourth-degree conviction

Second-degree fleeing and eluding: minimum 2 years imprisonment (up to 10 years), with fines up to $10,000; applies when violation causes serious bodily injury or offender has prior convictions

First-degree fleeing and eluding: minimum 5 years imprisonment (up to 15 years), with fines up to $15,000; applies when violation results in death

Takes effect 90 days after enactment, contingent on passage of HB 4691
