Changes the term commencement date for township officers elected after December 31, 2024 from 12 noon on November 20 to 12 noon on December 1 following their election

Maintains the existing requirement that township officers must qualify before assuming duties and hold office until a successor is elected and qualified, but not beyond January 1 following the election

Clarifies that failure to qualify by January 1 following election creates a vacancy to be filled by the township board

Adds a prohibition preventing individuals elected to fill a vacancy from taking the oath of office until election results have been certified by the appropriate board of canvassers, regardless of any local ordinance or resolution

Updates language throughout sections 362 and 370 of the Michigan Election Law to modernize phrasing without changing substantive requirements
