Removes fixed per diem compensation rates for members of boards of determination, drainage boards, and augmented drainage boards, instead allowing the drain commissioner or relevant board to determine "reasonable compensation" and approve "necessary expenses" for each meeting attended

Updates terminology throughout the Drain Code of 1956, replacing outdated terms like "board of supervisors" with "county board of commissioners" and "chairman" with "chairperson"

Clarifies procedures for appointing boards of determination when drain commissioners are disqualified or choose not to act, including specifying that the chairperson of the county board of commissioners must immediately notify the drain commissioner of appointees' names and addresses

Allows drainage district consolidation petitions to include only part of existing drainage districts, not just entire districts, and permits villages (in addition to cities and townships) to sign consolidation petitions

Reorganizes several sections into numbered subsections for clarity and updates notice requirements to reference the Open Meetings Act by its full citation (1976 PA 267, MCL 15.261 to 15.275)
