Establishes six classifications of boiler installer licenses in Michigan: Class 2B (low-pressure boilers), Class 3B (power boilers up to 5,000 lbs steam/hour), Class 4B (boilers up to 300,000 lbs steam/hour), Class 5B (any non-nuclear boiler), Class 6B (nuclear boilers), and Class P (non-boiler external piping only).

Requires Class 6B license applicants for nuclear boiler installation to demonstrate knowledge of federal nuclear regulations and be employed by a company with a valid ASME nuclear code symbol.

Converts existing Class 1B license holders to Class 2B licenses upon the act's effective date.

Authorizes the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to promulgate rules establishing requirements for each license classification and to consolidate license types to reduce the total number of boiler installer licenses.

Mandates that individuals performing boiler installation or alteration work must either hold the appropriate license or work under immediate supervision of a licensed individual.
