Increases minimum damages for unlawful eviction from $200 to $2,000, or $200 per day for ongoing unlawful conduct, whichever is greater than actual damages

Authorizes judges or juries to award exemplary (punitive) damages when defendants violate court orders, allow unlawful conduct to persist more than 24 hours, engage in repeated patterns of illegal eviction, or commit other aggravating acts

Permits an additional 10% civil fine on exemplary damages for egregious conduct, with proceeds deposited into the Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund

Expands the definition of unlawful interference with possessory interest to include violations of section 5714(1), making clear the listed prohibited actions are not exhaustive
