Amends Michigan's firearm transport law to clarify that restrictions on transporting non-pistol firearms and large-caliber pneumatic guns apply only when the motor vehicle is in operation

Current law requires firearms (other than pistols) and pneumatic guns over .177 caliber to be unloaded and either taken down, enclosed in a case, in the trunk, or inaccessible from the vehicle interior during transport

The amendment adds the phrase "while the motor vehicle is in operation" to specify when these transport restrictions apply

Violation remains a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days imprisonment, a fine up to $100, or both

Takes effect 90 days after enactment
