Amends Section 1278 of the Revised School Code (MCL 380.1278), which governs K-12 academic standards in subjects including math, science, reading, history, geography, economics, American government, and writing

Maintains existing provisions that curriculum standards must focus on academic and cognitive instruction only, excluding attitudes, beliefs, or value systems not essential to society's legal, economic, and social structure

Preserves requirements for genocide education (including the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide) in history standards for grades 8-12 and continues shared-time course offerings for nonpublic school students
