Requires food establishments to notify consumers in writing of all major food allergens (as determined by the FDA) present in unpackaged food items served or sold

Written allergen notifications must list which specific major food allergens are contained in each food item

Allows flexible notification methods including brochures, deli case notifications, menu notifications, statements, table tents, placards, or other effective written means (physical or electronic)

Makes minor technical language updates to existing food code provisions, such as changing "shall" to "must" and "prior to" to "before"

Takes effect 6 months after enactment into law
