Health insurers must acknowledge receipt of credentialing applications within 7 calendar days and provide contact information for the reviewer, and cannot deny credentialing simply because they claim no additional providers are needed.

Insurers must notify applicants of incomplete applications within 30 calendar days, detailing required items; providers then have 30 days to submit completed applications or timelines restart.

The entire credentialing process must be completed within 60 calendar days of receiving an application, with the timeline pausing if additional information is requested and resuming upon resubmission.

Once credentialed with a fully executed contract, insurers must reimburse providers for covered services retroactively to the date the completed credentialing application was received.

The bill is tied to HB 5513 and will not take effect unless that companion legislation is also enacted into law.
