Prohibits the growing, synthesizing, selling, or offering to sell kratom or synthetic variants of kratom in Michigan.

First-time violations are misdemeanors punishable by up to 90 days imprisonment, fines up to $5,000, or both; second violations increase to 180 days and $10,000.

Sales to individuals under 18 years old carry enhanced penalties of up to 1 year imprisonment and fines up to $10,000, with repeat offenses to minors increasing fines to $20,000.

Kratom is defined as any part of the Mitragyna speciosa plant, including leaves, extracts, resins, and all compounds or preparations derived from it.

The act takes effect 90 days after enactment into law.
