Prohibits local governments in or adjacent to metropolitan statistical areas from imposing setback requirements greater than 15 feet from front property lines or 5 feet from rear/side property lines for dwellings and outbuildings

Allows an exception permitting setbacks up to 25 feet from wetlands, inland lakes and streams, and the ordinary high water mark of the Great Lakes or Lake St. Clair

Amends the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act (2006 PA 110) by adding section 205c

Applies to local units of government located wholly or partially within, or adjacent to, a metropolitan statistical area as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget
