Grade 12 students working full-time (at least 30 hours per week) in approved trade occupations may receive high school credit toward graduation requirements, including potentially satisfying the final-year mathematics credit requirement.

Eligible trade occupations include skilled positions in manufacturing, construction, health technology, and information technology that align with state-recognized career and technical education pathways or lead to industry-recognized credentials.

Employers must document training, verify hours worked, comply with workplace safety and youth labor laws, maintain liability insurance, and report attendance and incidents to schools at least every 30 days.

Students must obtain written parental consent, and schools must assign a staff member to monitor employment and verify alignment with career and technical education standards.

Schools must annually report to the department the number of students receiving credit under this program and the types of trade occupations approved.
