MI HB5661

Grants the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) explicit powers to administer and operate the MI Home Program Act, including the MI Home Readiness Program, MI Home Grant Program, MI Home Loan Program, and MI Home Employer Program.

Authorizes MSHDA to administer four corresponding funds: the MI Home Readiness Fund, MI Home Grant Fund, MI Home Loan Fund, and MI Home Employer Fund.

Amends the State Housing Development Authority Act of 1966 (MCL 125.1422) to expand MSHDA's statutory powers to include those delegated by other laws.

Contains technical language updates throughout the existing statute, replacing "shall" with "must" or "are" for consistency with modern drafting conventions.

This bill is a tie bar with HB 5660 and will not take effect unless HB 5660 or its Senate companion (SB ____) is enacted into law.
