Requires independent audits of county drain commissioner offices every 2 years, conducted by an auditor designated by the attorney general

Audits may be triggered earlier upon request by the board of county commissioners or by 2 or more municipalities within the county

Audit scope includes all books, records, accounts, and funds; administration of drains and drainage districts; and the drain commissioner's performance of statutory duties

Drain commissioners and staff must produce all books and papers for inspection and truthfully answer auditor questions

Audit costs are paid from the county general fund, except when municipalities request the audit, in which case the county pays 50% and requesting municipalities split the remaining 50%
