Drain projects with cost estimates of $75,000 or greater must be submitted to the county road commission for review within 14 days of receiving engineering plans and specifications.

County road commissions must review drain project costs at their first meeting after receipt and have 60 days to determine whether costs are reasonable, excessive, or make no determination.

Drain commissioners must consider county road commission recommendations but may proceed with projects after 60 days if no determination is received.

The bill applies to both single-county drains (Section 73) and inter-county drainage districts (Section 125), requiring similar review processes for each.

Amends the Drain Code of 1956 (MCL 280.73 and 280.125) to add county road commission oversight of drain commissioner spending decisions.
