Allows local law enforcement agencies to request reimbursement from the Michigan Department of State Police for responding to incidents on freeways and highways when state police are unavailable and request local assistance.

Reimbursement eligibility requires four conditions: state police unavailability, a state police request for local response, the road being under Michigan Department of Transportation authority, and the local agency preparing an incident report.

Local agencies must submit reimbursement requests quarterly in a format prescribed by the state police director, who will set annual reimbursement rates.

The Department of State Police must process reimbursement requests or provide written denial within 30 days of receipt.

The state police director must publish an annual report detailing the number of incidents responded to by local agencies, organized by county and type of local government.
