Exempts ponds under 1 acre from state environmental permitting requirements under Michigan's Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act when located on land zoned for residential or agricultural use and used for noncommercial, residential purposes.

Amends section 30103 (inland lakes and streams permits) and section 30305 (wetland permits) to add identical exemptions for small residential pond construction or excavation.

Defines "residential use" as land, buildings, or structures used for human homes or dwelling places.

Introduced March 10, 2026 with 22 bipartisan House sponsors and referred to the Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

Makes various technical and stylistic updates throughout both sections, including replacing "pursuant to" with "under" or "in accordance with" and updating federal statute citations.
