Expands the list of acceptable photo identification documents for verifying age when purchasing alcohol to include driver's licenses and ID cards from other states, U.S. passports, federal government-issued IDs, military IDs, tribal IDs, local government IDs, and student IDs from educational institutions

Amends the Michigan Liquor Control Code of 1998 (MCL 436.1701) to update the definition of "diligent inquiry" retailers must perform before selling alcohol

Maintains existing penalties for selling alcohol to minors: up to $1,000 fine and 60 days imprisonment for first offense, up to $2,500 fine and 90 days for subsequent offenses, and up to 10 years imprisonment or $5,000 fine if the sale results in the minor's death

Preserves the defense provision allowing sellers to avoid liability if they examined an acceptable form of identification before furnishing alcohol to a minor
