Highlights presidential accomplishments including creation of nearly 8 million jobs, establishing the Department of Education, and signing the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act that doubled the national park system

Commemorates post-presidential achievements including founding the Carter Center to alleviate human suffering worldwide and receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002

Directs copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Carter family as evidence of Michigan's lasting esteem for the former president
