Prohibits local governments in Michigan from enacting or enforcing laws, ordinances, policies, or rules that limit peace officers or local officials from communicating or cooperating with federal officials regarding individuals' immigration status

Requires local governments with existing sanctuary policies to bring them into compliance within 60 days of the act's effective date; any violating policies are declared void and unenforceable

Allows residents to sue their local government in circuit court or file complaints with the attorney general for violations occurring after the 60-day compliance period

Mandates the attorney general to investigate complaints and bring enforcement actions against non-compliant local governments

Courts must issue injunctions, order policy changes, and award damages and attorney fees to successful challengers; elected or appointed officials who knowingly violate the act face civil fines of $2,500 to $7,500
