Requires Michigan law enforcement agencies (state police, sheriffs, city/village/township police) that operate detention facilities to create jail enforcement model or warrant service officer programs to assist ICE in enforcing immigration laws

Mandates law enforcement agencies enter into 287(g) agreements with the Department of Homeland Security before operating programs, allowing officers to function as federal immigration agents

Requires law enforcement to verify citizenship or immigration status of lawfully arrested individuals before release

Mandates immediate transfer of convicted individuals not legally in the U.S. to ICE or Customs and Border Protection custody upon release from imprisonment or payment of fines

Requires law enforcement participation in transporting undocumented individuals to federal facilities; bill only takes effect if SB 42 (funding mechanism) is also enacted
