Requires the Michigan Department of Education, in consultation with the Department of Natural Resources, to adopt a model firearm safety instruction program for grades 6-12 by June 1, 2025

Mandates the instruction be at least 10 hours and cover proper firearm usage and handling, cleaning and maintenance, different firearm types, safe hunting practices, and proper storage of firearms and ammunition

Instruction must be taught by a certified hunter education instructor and comply with the state's safe firearm handling course requirements

Prohibits firearms or ammunition from being brought into school buildings as part of the instruction

Schools may offer the program as an optional extracurricular class, with students able to opt out without penalty, and completion satisfies the hunter safety course requirement for obtaining a hunting license
