Prohibits child care organizations from passing along the costs of criminal background checks (ICHAT searches or equivalent checks) to employees, applicants, or contracted workers

Applies to child care centers, group child care homes, and family child care homes licensed under Michigan's child care organization licensing act

Changes existing law that previously allowed child care organizations to charge employees or applicants for the actual cost of required background check fees

Background checks include Department of State Police searches, FBI fingerprint checks, national sex offender registry searches, and state criminal registry searches
