Beginning July 1, 2026, schools are prohibited from providing, selling, or making available to students any food containing brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben, or titanium dioxide

The prohibition also bans foods containing synthetic dyes Red 40, Green 3, Blue 1, Blue 2, and Yellow 6

The ban applies to both public schools and nonpublic schools as defined under Michigan's revised school code

Amends the Food Law (2000 PA 92) by adding a new section 7134 specifically addressing school food restrictions
