Modifies Michigan Merit Curriculum mathematics requirements to mandate only Algebra I and Geometry (previously required Algebra II), with remaining 2 math credits fulfillable through various options including trigonometry, statistics, calculus, applied mathematics, accounting, business math, construction math, computer science, or career and technical education programs

Expands approved courses for the 1 credit visual/performing/applied arts requirement to include 35 specific options such as marching band, theater, ceramics, photography, culinary studies, computer science, and career and technical education programs

Adds computer coding as an acceptable "language other than English" for the 2-credit world language requirement, alongside American Sign Language

Requires the Department of Education to develop model instructional programs for all graduation requirement courses by June 30, 2027, and mandates all K-5 teachers receive science of reading professional development training beginning in the 2027-2028 school year

Requires teacher preparation programs offering mathematics certifications to develop curricula in consultation with mathematics professors, and science certification programs to consult with science professors, effective September 30, 2027
