Creates the Cultural History Advisory Board within the Michigan Department of Education, appointed by the Superintendent of Public Instruction

Board consists of 25 members representing diverse communities including Asian-American/Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic, Black, Middle Eastern/North African/Chaldean, Indigenous, Caribbean-American, Jewish-American, European-American communities, plus educators, labor representatives, and higher education members

Members must demonstrate cultural competency and cannot exhibit bias or discrimination against individuals protected under the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, serving 2-year terms

Board must provide recommendations within 2 years on a K-12 curriculum toolkit and professional development for teaching cultural history of the represented groups

Board will collaborate with local institutions, tribes, cultural historians, museums, and universities, forming subcommittees to guide curriculum development for each cultural group
