Modifies licensing requirements for marriage and family therapists, replacing current requirements effective January 1, 2028 with new standards requiring 3,000 hours of supervised postdegree clinical experience over at least 24 months (up from 1,000 hours)

Requires at least 500 hours of the supervised experience to be completed with families, couples, or subsystems present either in-person or via two-way real-time secure technology

Mandates 100 hours of supervision by a fully licensed marriage and family therapist, with at least 50 hours as individual or dyadic supervision, and allows up to 50 hours via secure technology

Establishes new continuing education requirements for license renewal, including mandatory courses in pain and symptom management, beginning with the first renewal cycle after January 1, 2028

Authorizes the department to promulgate rules adopting standards from the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education and to adjust supervised clinical hours if necessary to ensure Medicare provider eligibility
