Permanently authorizes Michigan notaries public to perform remote notarial acts using two-way real-time audiovisual technology, removing the previous expiration date of July 1, 2021

Requires identity verification both before and during the video conference through credential analysis and identity proofing, strengthening the previous requirement of verification only during the conference

Allows individuals located outside Michigan to use remote notarization services if the record relates to Michigan courts, governmental entities, or involves property or transactions connected to the state

Permits records to be signed in counterparts when not expressly prohibited, and requires the signed record to be transmitted to the notary on the same date it was signed

Encourages Michigan government agencies to accept electronic records, electronic signatures, and remote notarization for official business and legal instruments
