Authorizes township boards to contract with accredited election officials from nearby cities or townships to perform election duties when neither the township clerk nor deputy clerk is available.

Replaces previous requirement that appointed individuals must be registered electors of the township with a requirement that contracted individuals must be accredited to conduct elections and live within reasonable proximity.

Grants contracted individuals full powers and authority of a deputy township clerk for registrations, nominations, and elections.

Requires contracted individuals to provide reports at each regularly scheduled township board meeting summarizing duties performed while the contract is in effect.

Contract remains in effect until the township clerk or deputy resumes duties, or until a new township clerk is appointed or elected.
