Designates May 2025 as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Awareness Month in Michigan

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is an inherited condition affecting connective tissues, with 13 types caused by genetic defects in collagen, affecting at least 1 in 5,000 people worldwide

Symptoms include joint hypermobility, easily dislocated joints, skin that bruises easily, digestive problems, and issues with internal organs

80% of people with EDS also have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which causes rapid heart rate increases when standing

Currently no treatment or cure exists for EDS; the resolution encourages scientific research and funding to find a cure
