Recognizes that nearly one in four American adults (approximately 70 million people) live with a disability, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates

Acknowledges the ADA as landmark civil rights legislation that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in jobs, schools, transportation, and other areas of public life

Affirms ongoing commitment to upholding both the spirit and letter of the ADA while recognizing work remains to be done

Urges all Michigan residents to acknowledge and celebrate this anniversary and honors those who contributed to the ADA's enactment
