Prohibit all Minnesota cities from establishing, owning, or operating municipal liquor stores effective January 1, 2010.

Require cities currently operating municipal liquor stores to divest themselves of any interest in the stores by January 1, 2010, with proceeds deposited in the city's general fund.

Repeal Minnesota Statutes sections 340A.601 through 340A.604, 426.19, 426.20, 447.045, and 471.6985, which previously authorized and governed municipal liquor store operations.

Direct the revisor of statutes to delete references to municipal liquor stores from various statute sections and rewrite sentences for grammatical correctness.

Apply to cities of all sizes and classifications, with no exceptions for existing operations.
