Commissioner of human services must request proposals from private vendors to examine billing and collections practices in general assistance medical care, medical assistance, and MinnesotaCare programs.

Vendor examination must focus on identifying recommendations to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse within these three programs.

Selected vendor must complete the examination and provide recommendations to the commissioner by July 1, 2011.

This section becomes effective July 1, 2010.
