Appropriates $2,000,000 from bond proceeds to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to the city of Minneapolis for I-35W storm tunnel design and construction improvements.

Storm tunnel systems will provide drainage for Interstate Highway 35W north and south as well as portions of southwest and northeast Minneapolis that drain into the tunnel.

Commissioner of management and budget authorized to sell and issue state bonds up to $2,000,000 to fund the appropriation.

Bond issuance follows procedures outlined in Minnesota Statutes sections 16A.631 to 16A.675 and Minnesota Constitution article XI, sections 4 to 7.

Section becomes effective the day following final enactment.
