Adds a new subdivision to Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 169.13, creating a gross misdemeanor offense for careless driving resulting in death.

Establishes criminal liability when a person drives, operates, or halts a vehicle carelessly or heedlessly in disregard of others' rights or safety, which results in any person's death.

Allows prosecution for careless driving resulting in death to proceed alongside prosecution for other crimes, delinquent acts, or juvenile petty offenses arising from the same conduct.

Prohibits a conviction or finding of violation under this section from barring conviction, juvenile adjudication, or punishment for any other crime or delinquent act related to the same incident.
