Amends Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 617.246, subdivision 1 to revise definitions related to child pornography and public safety.

Defines "sexual conduct" to include sexual intercourse, sadomasochistic abuse, masturbation, lewd exhibitions of genitals or pubic or rectal area, and physical contact with clothed or unclothed public areas or buttocks in a manner of apparent sexual stimulation or gratification or intended to arouse sexual desire.

Defines "pornographic work" as original or reproductions of pictures, films, photographs, videotapes, or drawings of sexual performances involving minors, and visual depictions using minors to depict actual or simulated sexual conduct, including computer-generated images.

Includes provisions for depictions that have been created, adapted, or modified to appear that an identifiable minor is engaging in sexual conduct, or that are advertised, promoted, or distributed to convey the impression of depicting a minor in sexual conduct.

Effective date is August 1, 2010, and applies to crimes committed on or after that date.
