Voids indemnification provisions in motor carrier transportation contracts that require one party to defend or hold harmless the other from liability resulting from negligence or intentional acts, declaring such provisions against public policy.

Allows indemnification agreements only when a promisor agrees to provide specific insurance coverage, the claim falls within that coverage scope, and the promisor fails to maintain the required insurance.

Permits indemnification for deductible amounts or self-insured retention when insurance includes these features, regardless of the general prohibition on indemnification.

Exempts Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreements and other intermodal equipment agreements from the indemnification restrictions.

Takes effect the day following final enactment and applies to all existing contracts as of that date and any contracts entered into or renewed on or after that date.
