Commissioner shall issue special plates inscribed "EMT RETIRED" to retired emergency medical technicians who present proof of former certification under section 144E.28

Applicants must be registered owners of passenger automobiles, pickup trucks, vans, or self-propelled recreational vehicles and comply with motor vehicle registration and licensing laws

Initial fee of $10 per set of two plates applies at application and when plates are replaced or renewed, with each applicant limited to a maximum of two sets of special plates

Special plates may be transferred to another eligible vehicle for a $5 fee

Commissioner of veterans affairs shall design the special plates after consultation with the commissioner of health
