• Delays the effective date of medical assistance estate recovery provisions in Laws 2009, chapter 79, article 5, sections 20, 21, and 38 to 42 until July 1, 2010, or 30 days after the commissioner of human services publishes federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approval notice, whichever is later.

• New effective date applies only to estates of decedents who die on or after the delayed implementation date.

• Section 1 is effective retroactively from July 1, 2009.
