Commissioner of transportation must develop specifications or standards for roundabout design as part of the next regular update to design and highway construction manuals.

Specifications must address suitability of roundabout designs for commercial motor vehicles and disabled persons as defined in Minnesota Statutes.

Commissioner shall consult with the Minnesota Trucking Association, representatives of persons obtaining oversize or overweight permits, and the Council on Disability when developing the specifications or standards.

Commissioner shall distribute the specifications or standards to local road authorities.

Section becomes effective the day following final enactment.
