• School districts must not schedule student instruction days on the Thursday or Friday immediately preceding Labor Day, though teacher workshop days may be held on those days.

• School districts operating at least 178 instructional days during 2008-2009 may reduce their calendar to 178 days minimum, provided total student contact hours do not decrease.

• School boards must publish notices of proposed agreements, fee hearings, and schoolhouse closings on the district's official Web site in addition to or instead of newspaper publication only.

• School districts may transfer funds between accounts on June 30 of any year (except from the debt redemption fund) without increasing state aid obligations or property tax authority.

• Line of credit agreements with financial institutions are limited to 80 percent of average monthly operating expenditures, with repayment required within 120 days of advancement.
