Prohibits automobile insurers and their affiliates from holding or acquiring any ownership interest in repair facilities that service nonmechanical exterior or interior body parts of damaged motor vehicles.

Adds Subdivision 40 to Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 72A.20, to establish the ownership restriction.

Defines "insurer" to include affiliates as defined in section 72A.491, subdivision 3.

Takes effect the day following final enactment.
