Commissioner of Education shall establish an advisory task force to recommend proposals on fostering classroom teachers' pursuit of master's degrees in their subject areas of licensure

Task force shall recommend strategies to meet elementary and secondary students' needs for education planning and preparation and improve their ability to acquire knowledge and skills for postsecondary academic and career education

Task force composition includes representatives from Education Minnesota, University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Education, Minnesota Board of Teaching, Minnesota Private College Council, Minnesota Office of Higher Education, Minnesota Career College Association, Minnesota PTA, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Business Partnership, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Minnesota Association of Career and Technical Administrators, Minnesota Association of Career and Technical Educators, Minnesota System of State Colleges and Universities, and other entities recommended by task force members

Task force must submit written recommendations to education policy and finance committees by February 15, 2010

Task force expires February 16, 2010; commissioner may reimburse but not compensate task force members; commissioner must provide technical, fiscal, and other support services upon request
