Defines "business screening service" as a person regularly engaged in collecting or disseminating criminal record information for a fee, excluding government entities and news media.

Requires inquirers to provide written notice to the data subject prior to initiating a background check, including the name and address of any business screening service used.

Requires inquirers to provide a free written copy of background check results to the data subject upon request and prohibits charging any fee for the copy.

Exempts public employers regulated under chapter 364 from these notice and copy requirements.
