Adds physical education as a required subject area for statewide accountability standards, effective in the 2012-2013 school year.

Requires the commissioner of education to adopt statewide physical education standards identical to those developed by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education by December 1, 2010, using expedited rulemaking.

Establishes the healthy kids awards program to reward kindergarten through grade 12 students for nutritional well-being and physical activity, with participating schools committing from October through May each school year.

Schools participating in the healthy kids awards program that achieve at least 75 percent of students being physically active for 60 minutes daily receive monthly awards, with the commissioner seeking outside funding for incentives.

Requires school districts to post their current local school wellness policies on their websites when available, effective August 1, 2010.
