Amends Minnesota Statutes section 181.58 to extend wage payment rights upon employee death to surviving domestic partners, in addition to surviving spouses.

Defines "domestic partners" as two same-sex persons who are adults, mentally competent, share financial obligations and a permanent common residence, have a committed interdependent relationship, and are not married or in another domestic partnership or related by blood or adoption.

Employers must pay accumulated wages (up to $10,000) and vacation or overtime plan credits to the surviving spouse or domestic partner upon request, without requiring a personal representative of the estate to be appointed.

Employers may require proof of the claimant's relationship to the deceased by affidavit and written acknowledgment of receipt; payments made fully discharge employer liability to the estate.

Employee must provide the domestic partner's name, address, and phone number to the employer prior to any payment under this section.
